Learning, character and service.

God’s Heritage Academy is a growing Kumasi school for children from pre-school to JHS. Here is who we are, what we believe and what we have achieved so far.

Our history

Two prefects in kente stoles standing outside the school building

Founded in September 2006 out of a deep passion for nurturing children, our school began its journey in Ahenema Kokoben, in a modest wooden structure.

Mrs Esther Oduro Asamoah opened the school with two dedicated teachers. She named it God’s Heritage, a name that comes from Psalm 127:3–4:

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

Psalm 127:3–4 (KJV)

The pioneer class had just six pupils: Mrs Asamoah’s own three children and three other eager learners. As those first pupils moved up, the school grew with them. Primary classes were added year by year, then the junior high, so a child can now start in pre-school and sit the BECE without changing schools.

That growth has come from people. Teachers have stayed and trained the colleagues who joined after them. Parents have served on committees, helped on trips and turned up for every cultural day. Neighbours, churches and local businesses have lent their time and their grounds. The school is still growing, and it is still built the same way.

Mission and vision

Our motto Knowledge and Integrity

Our mission

To provide a holistic education that instils Christian character, promotes academic excellence, and develops adaptable skills for lifelong success in a tech-driven age.

Our vision

To raise God-fearing, globally relevant learners equipped with wisdom, integrity, and future-ready skills to thrive and lead in an ever-changing world.

What we stand for

Five values we teach and practise in every class, from the first morning in pre-school to the last BECE paper.

God-Fearing
Respect for God shapes how we teach, speak and treat one another.
Excellence
Every child is expected to give their best and is helped to reach it.
Holistic Growth
We develop the mind, character and talents of each child, not test scores alone.
Adaptability
Learners practise new skills so they can meet a changing world with confidence.
Teamwork
Children learn to listen, share the work and succeed together.

Proprietress, God’s Heritage Academy

A message from our proprietress

“A child learns best when home and school are telling them the same thing.”

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn about our school.

Our first job is to make school a place where children feel safe, known and expected to do well. Classrooms are calm and orderly, teachers know every child by name, and we notice quickly when someone needs more help or more challenge.

Our priorities are simple. Children should read, write and work with numbers confidently. They should ask good questions. And they should learn to be honest, kind and responsible, because good results matter less without good character.

None of this works without you. We keep parents informed, we listen when you raise a concern, and we ask you to support the habits we build in class at home. Please come and see us on a weekday morning. I would be glad to show you around.
